There will always be someone that comes up with a better 'standard' in their opinion. Evolution.

Whether it is better or not in the real world with real people.

Always progressing technology- but there needs to become a "standard" frame mount, through axel size, so that wheels and frames are not outdated year to year. QR with Hydro brakes can be great, but I believe through axles line up more accurately more of the time, and I think serve their function better in this situation. Companies are very concerned about weight and I believe that is the main impetus to continue QR for hydro brakes.
Anyway I decided my lottery winning bike purchase would be a Pinnarelo Dogma F8/ Mavic Ksyrium Pro SL wheels/ Di2 9100 DuraAce
