12 grams including head set cap and bolts.

Or maybe it is EE at a significant increase?

Anyone having the EE version?

I just bought carbonice top cap that simply covers the steerer tube top. Install with an expander, remove and just cover. If that works well, it's the lightest.

Well yes ofcourse, if you remove the whole expander. But i ment if you do have them installed!
I used Tune Gumgum, but i think it was... let's just say, not so good.

I've been working on marginal gains recently and found buying not as a package seems to be the best way for the ultimate in light weight. I got the extralite expander as (although half a gram heavier!) it's half the price of the ee, where you pay for the bog standard top cap and bolt. On top of my setup is a veloflyte cap and nylon bolt. Whole package came in at 8.3g

I have the trickstuff expander. It works and it doesn't nick the inside of the steerer. I don't like the logo, but I don't care much.

Running without a proper expander doesn't work for me as the stem will walk on the steerer (yes, properly torqued & with friction paste) and the headset will loosen.

Come to think of it, the extralite Hyperstem specify a torque value of 3nm for the bolts only, which seems to make such an occurrence more likely...

I like an expander that works and not needing to be removed.
I also got the trickstuff kit, MCFK etc etc.

I think i like this one best actually.
