Alright,

Here is my current build. I was wondering what you lot would do to cut weight off it...

SuperSixEvo 2014 frameset
SiSL2 cranks
SRAM PF30 BB
Dura Ace 7900 pedals
Power2Max Type S compact
PraxisWorks compact
Dura Ace 9070 Di2 groupset (12/28t)
Dura Ace QR levers
Extralite Hyperstem
Deda Superleggera bars and seatpost, with internal Di2 battery
Extralite Cyberhubs, CX-Ray, Chinese blank 38mm clinchers (23rear,25front; front is custom model I am working on, and slightly heavier than usual, but needs to stay)
Carbon bottle cages
Cannondale lightweight top cap
Fizik bar tape
Continental GP4000Sii tyres (23mm rear, 25mm front)

I can't really see where I could shift much weight from it, but might be missing something obvious, so thought I would ask.

Cheers

Yeah the Dura Ace ones are heavy for sure. Could get some light ones to replace them. Just want to find some that work as well as the Dura Ace ones.

Nothing obvious without some bigger and more expensive changes. Tubs, ee or Fibulas, a carbon saddle/post combo. Significant weight savings are there but $$$.

Yeah I can't be bothered with running tubulars on a daily.

I basically wanted to mitigate the extra weight from the Power2Max, which is about 180g, so if I could cut that much off across the bike that would be enough.

1. Definitely the skewers. Just my own opinion, I think monstrous clamping forces are unnecessary

2 Cockpit and seat post, definitely easiest to lose weight just depends on how much you want to pay. Ebay seatpost are pretty cheap though.

3. Bottle cage weights can varies from 20+g to 6-7g.

Not sure which Fizik bar tape you are using, but some of their tapes are really heavy.

Skewers, lighter inner tubes and a Berk saddle/post combo is where I'd put my money.

Actual weight? I think you would need an ergal cassette (around 110/120 grams) and a good carbon wheelset for tubular (around 1100 grams naked)
My 4,93 kg Supersix Evo HM: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=137647&start=30

My 6,22 kg Cannondale R500 1996: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=134364

The wheels are around 1100g as they are.

Right, I can knock about 100g off with skewers I reckon. The other 80g I can cut off the seat post and steerer and spread across a few components like inner tubes.

Cheers.

TheDarkInstall, i'm in the same boat as you are with my 2015 BMC TMR02. not really sure what else can be reduced.

2015 BMC TMR02 frameset
SRAM RED cranks + Rotor QXL 52/36 chainrings
SRAM RED 10sp shifter, RD, Red WiFli + Ultegra 12/30t
Jagwire Road Pro XL cable set
Stages Rival PM
Hawk Racing BB86 GXP
SRAM RED front brake, BMC proprietary rear brake (not sure which other brands i can use)
CrankBro Eggbeaters Ti
Dura Ace QR levers (soon to be replaced by TUNE AC16/17 - 59g)
Uno Kalloy stem (had the extralite hyperstem OS - but it started bitting on my fork - sold it)
Zipp SL70 Aero handlebars
BMC headset (already changed out most alloy spacers to carbon spacers) & BMC proprietary seatpost (already trimmed)
Kinlin XR31T w/ Bitex hubs (20/24) - had Farsport before, but toasted 2 sets, so sticking with alloy now
Specialized Romin Evo Pro carbon rails
Specialized Reserve Rack 2 mount + 2 x Xlabs Gorilla XT cages
Performance Bike Forte bar tape
Continental GP4000Sii tyres (23mm front&rear)

total weight with SRAM garmin mount is 16.77lbs :(

Hi Karl yea.. I followed your thread. The frame weight between TMR02 and 01 is very different.
