I have what appears to be some dried out tubular glue stuck to the back of the seat tube on my Trek Domane 6 frame. Is it safe to use acetone to take this off, without harming the paint? Or do I have to scrape it off with my thumbnails?

Thanks.

Hi, i wouldn't advise to use acetone on the frame as it will dull the lacquer. You should be able to pick it off with your nail.

Acetone is not very good on tubular rim glue. Use household paint thinner or Goof-Off, or something like that.

Mineral spirits. Goof-Off or the like can soften or mark clearcoats and damage decals or stickers.
