Guys,

Who does the best custom paint work on frames here in US????
I have a new (repaired) Felt AR FRD frame and trying to find someone to do some custom paint work on it.
Trying to Do a paint job inspired by the new 2016 Formula 1 Mercedes AMG Petronas team car and it's beautiful paint job/ design.
Still not sure if i will just paint the toptub (where repairs were done), and maybe few more accents here and there. Or entire frame with fork. Dont want to add too much weight either. The frame itself has this cool looking checkered/ nude carbon, stealthy, race car look to it already( uses some of the same colors already : dark gray/ silver shades). I think it would look great with the F1 team colors on toptube and maybe few more spots, if designed / incorporated correctly .

I believe MadeRadByTony did a similar, more subtle design on a Tarmac this year. I would also highly recommend Censport Graphics who did both of these for me.....Ron Jones from Specialized is also very good and I would think he could still do a different brand but you would have to ask him. Hot Tubes is also very popular in the US and warrantied to repaint Cervelo bikes.

Thanks. I also agree it would be really cool to leave parts of the exposed carbon visible since Felt is using the large weave.

Yea. I am thinking, Complete Toptube catching upper part of the headtube and seattube (almost like the red paint on thr new cervelo R5's toptube), maybe inside part of the fork and chain stays and the F1 Mercedes AMG "metallic green", just a strip running along the back side of the seat tube and the seat post> Looking for something Very settle but just enough to incorporate the F1 MB AMG colors and take care of the toptube that needs to be painted to hide the repairs !!!

Any thoughts on Calfee Carbon out of Cali???
Good, bad???? With paint of course.
I know they are really good with the repairs of carbon, did couple bikes for me already. I would even say excellent With repairs. How is their painting department?

Calfee does really good work as well. Just more simple for the most part I think.

I was introduced to Calfee by one of the LBSes in the Bay Area. They do repairs and modifications but where they are really good at is the paint. I am very happy with the detail work they did on two of my bikes (conversion to electronic). I still have one of them for sentimental reasons :-) You cannot tell where they've removed the cable stops and painted the parts of the frame.
BTW, last time I visited them, I saw a paint job on one of their Manta bikes; a very dark burgundy with dark sparkles in it, the lugs were painted in cream/almond. I do not like colorful bikes but this one was exceptionally nice. I am thinking...

If maintaining your warranty is any concern contact felt and see if they have a preferred painter. In cervelos case only hottubes will keep the warranty intact. B

Agreed. Richard Sachs sends all his frames to Joe. Need a better endorsement? Joe redid my Masi Gran Crit and it is far better than new. http://www.campyonly.com/joebell.html

The best paint I've ever seen has been by Joe Bell.
