Adding a KMC Missing Link to a Campy chain
Moderator: robbosmans
Hi All,
I'd like to add a KMC Missing Link to my 11s Chorus chain. I this is possible, but how exactly? Sorry if it's an elementary question, but I've never done it and would like to have it on my chain. I have all the tools needed if that helps.
Thanks in advance.

Definitely possible. Not sure how to explain other than break chain one link shy of the length you want, then simply use the missing link.
FWIW, while I never had any issues with KMC's link, both with 10s and 11s, I've recently switched to Wipperman links. Just think they are better.

Remember to remove an outer link not an inner.

After many years of using KMC chains I found that they didn't work well with 11 speed. I recently switched to a Campy chain and the drivetrain got a lot smoother. If you have a new chain I would just install the campy pin.

Thanks. Will I need any Campy chain pins in order to install a link from either KMC or Wipperman? I assume that I would just remove a full single link and press each side of the link in. Is that right?

Just do a search on Youtube. It's not difficult. Or read the instructions.

Don't you have to remove an inner and an outer?
Only an outer. The missing link is an outer.

i already just said that. Repeating what another said. So that's twice.
