Wait... did a moto ride OVER his bike after he fell or did he simply fall and the bike hit the ground?

I don't recall the moto behind the three riders hitting anything or anyone (but very nearly did). Froome and the others were in a heap, however, and their bikes definitely did his the ground.

Is it not so that all equipment used must be made available for end consumers/ public?
That is what i have been told.
If so, F8 X-lite is made in a small batch for this purpose.
That doesn't mean Pinarello made it for this purpose.
It might be made to test a feature idea, or for racing purpose.
The low weight limit is probably set not to risk frame failures in a high rate.
If Pina have a history of building frames that can take some beating, i think they have
same testing done to X-lite which explains the low weight limit of 69.8Kg.


Personally i am not sure if i believe they sell X-lite for any other reason than it has to be available to public.
Personally i would not go for X-lite over standard.
Why?
Because the risk of frame failure.
If Pina had been confident of a lighter mass produced version, we had already seen it available.
No reason to mix up Pina with other brands or what they can do or will do.
I doubt that has anything to do with it.
A more sturdy frame is going to take more abuse.

Sorry for off-topic, but on that photo it looks like that a disc brake rotor would be quite close to the Froome's neck if Mollema rode disc brakes. It would not be hot though, but anyway.

did you even look at the picture? the picture says 1000 words, motor wheels were at the downtube/headtube area, damage is chain stays. I doubt he would ever blame his sponsor equipment for that kind of "brittle" equipment
