ViAS is not like an old or discontinued model to be on sale and 25% is a huge reduction for a 2016 model.

Give it a month, then see how the land lies.

Some of the Specialized shops here in Denmark have had the VIAS bikes and framesets on sale with a 25% discount since March. And my favorite LBS is selling the VIAS Pro bike with the 25% discount plus a free Evade helmet and a pair of 2016 S-Works shoes!

I vote Vias but I am biased. Both are super nice frames. I would say if you want ride quality and overall complete bike, then go for the F8. If you want a rocket ship for the flats and rolling hills, and a forward looking more modern design, go for the Vias.

Have test ridden both and mile2424 is right! - the F8 is a much better all-round bike.

The F8 climbs easily, but you don't get the feeling you're losing anything on the flatter sections, as it goes really well there too.

Whereas the VV was a shocker on the climbs, it felt cumbersome and awkward, almost like a TT bike going uphill - but once we got on the flat it got upto and maintained speed really easily

For me personally, I'd go with the F8 over the VV - you could physically feel the difference/enjoyment of the ride on the uphill sections of the F8 over the VV, whilst on the ride itself - but on the flat sections, the enjoyment came when we were back in the workshop and was comparing all the segment times of the VV over the F8

Would a brand new 2016 F8 frame set for 4750 US Dollars be a smoking deal or just a good deal?

That is what, a little less than 20% off retail? That is good, but not a smoking deal IMO.

I owned the F8 for over a year and recently tried the Vias (only for a really short while) from a friend.

F8 - Stiff frontend and very good steering but slightly soft at the bb area
VV - Stable and grounded (maybe because of the weight), significantly better power transfer than F8, climbs weirdly, terrible braking

I would choose F8 simply because it's more of an all rounder.

I must live a very poor part of the country because I have only seen one vias and a couple of F8. Wow, the amount of people that are able to spend 20k on bikes to give the awesome reviews. I love the interwebs.

Is 4k USD for an F8 frame a very good deal?

$4000 USD is a great price for a new F8 frame.

I have 2012 Venge Expert (56cm) at the moment and have thought about changing the frame to F8. I have already updated almost everything except the frame (Sram Red eTap, Enve 6.7 wheels and Enve cockpit). Could you describe the F8 about how is it so much better than Venge?
