Are those fulcrums cup and cone?

With cup and cone hub, bearing preload has to be adjusted to the amount of clamping force of the skewer because the skewer compresses the axle and tightens the bearings. Cup and cones when properly adjusted have a little slop when not clamped down by a skewer.

tune u20 works well and is the lightest quick release skewer. I would stay away from tune skylines because they don't hold the wheel very well without a lot of effort tightening it.

Same positive results here with Tune's newer DC model.

My old M2Racer QRs were equally solid.

+1 for M2racer qr, they are the stiffest ever tried.
Better than lightweight, carbon-ti and tune

hey guys, not exactly a QR but I have the J&L 'anti-theft' Ti. skewers. I believe it's a mix of Ti and aluminum. i'm getting a lot of noises tightening and loosening. should this be a concern? it remains tight but not sure of any implications from the sounds im getting.. thx!

+1, Been using Tune u20 for years without any problems. Works well and simply can't be beat in weight for a quick release skewer.

@oldturd, I had similar issues with mine and I believe imaking20 was as well. Frankly, I think they're poorly designed. With that being said, I believe they're okay as my heavier, non butted 49g Control Tech do that as well.

I have noticed though if you're riding on a hot day they get very tight (meaning, tons of noise to loosen).

Contrast this to my Tune TT bolt ons which don't make any noise whatsoever.
