EE-brakes

I got 6 spacers, 4 for the rear brake and 2 for the front brake...doesn't seem very consistentGearjunkie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 1:50 amHey there Sungod.
If you come up with an alternative source for those spacers please let us know - I could use some more (for some reason my latest set of EEs only came with 4 spacers (one per pad) rather than 8 (two per pad) which I need for my narrower rims.
Cheers

4 spacers on the front and 2 on the rear, but it’s just me, because on the rear brake I prefer pads not too much close to brake tracks

as far as i can tell, the ee washers are aluminium alloy, black anodisedGearjunkie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 1:50 amHey there Sungod.

based on the measurements above from AZR3, these look like a possibility, it'd be necessary to drill the centre out to 7mm, but that's easy enough
https://www.pro-bolt.com/aluminium-wash ... -10-7.html
they are 1.4mm thick rather than 2mm, which suits my purpose, i want to get the brakes a bit wider than with the 2x2mm spacers so i can swap between 20mm carbon and 21mm alloy
as things stand the 2x2mm spacers don't give quite enough clearance to fit the wider rim with new pads, but 2mm+1.4mm or maybe 2x1.4mm should give enough extra without needing to alter cable length or lose adjuster range for pad wear
there might be other washers that are a closer match, maybe imperial dimensions, haven't done a lot of searching yet
Cane Creek didn't officially buy EE until ~Q4 of 2016 and I didn't see any of their brakes until 2017. The product photo on Planet Cyclery, to my eye, is the same as currently on EE's site. And they look identical to my 2017 brakes. AFAIK, there has not been another change to the design.tabl10s wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 11:38 amWhat year are these?hidefguy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 8:13 pmFyi I bought these from Planet Cyclery for $260 + no tax since i'm in California. Also, that $260 price is just for the rear brake.

My new bike, complete with eebrakes, should be ready any day now. Cannot wait!
I'm thinking about ordering a pair of red badges to compliment the black and red accents on the bike.
