yeah, they started to change the centering knurl starting with the direct mounts first...and it seems that was an issue with touching the frame in the front brake when turning hard left or right. they made it narrower to eliminate touching the frame. i think they're using this for the regular mount brakes as well when they run out of the previous ones.dudemanppl wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 9:15 pmThey changed the centering bolt in about Q1 2017.Imaking20 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 4:49 pmCane Creek didn't officially buy EE until ~Q4 of 2016 and I didn't see any of their brakes until 2017. The product photo on Planet Cyclery, to my eye, is the same as currently on EE's site. And they look identical to my 2017 brakes. AFAIK, there has not been another change to the design.

update on spacers
i got a pack of these... https://www.pro-bolt.com/aluminium-wash ... -10-7.html
thickness is 1.4mm rather than the 2mm of the originals, id/od are maybe 0.3mm less, but they fit perfectly on the sleeve of the shoe nut
using 2mm+1.4mm gave enough extra clearance that i can swap wheels over without a big difference in cable adjustment range or shaving new pads
