I have the exact same frame running an internal di2 setup, less the rear mech. I did look at drilling the rear drop out, but thought it could be risky, more than likely to work, but not 100%. So I first tried to locate the cable externally and am glad I did as it (too me) is as good as internal but with no risk. The cable exits the BB and is taped in place under the stay. Unless someone physically lifts the bike upright and looks underneath you cannot tell. The front mech is easy, simply enlarge the existing cable drilling.

One thing to note, I had intended to remove the cable stops, so drilled the rivets out on the rear stay stop. The stops are both riveted and bonded on and do not budge at all. I did not try to force it off as was unsure if the carbon would be damaged.

Edit: Actually the frames differ. Mine is the Adv SL Team. This has pre drilled holes behind the head tube and under the BB to allow for the fitting of the old wired SRM.

Naylor343, I've ridden the bike today and tested it thoroughly and all went fine. Except a small crash but that was due to miscommunication with my training buddy.

Thanks for sharing the fotos!

So you would advise against it to remove the cable guides thingies?

I think you would need to get advice from a composite/frame building expert. This I am not, but I am aware that some, if not most modern adhesives can be stronger than the material they are bonding. I did not want to risk damaging the tubes or damaging the stop and leaving some sort of ugly stump attached.

Glad you are happy with the results, it looks great, though personally I always thought this particular frame was one of giants better efforts with the head badges crossing from the head tube to the fork. Do you plan on fitting any giant stealth black decals?

No I'm not going to put on decals. I just like the raw carbon look.

Bartape and raw carbon bottle holder will come in on Monday. Slam the stem cover Monday or Tuesday.

WIP - the rim under the decals has a slightly different color (because of the sun). Does anybody know how to handle that?

Edit - you can't see it in de photo but trust me, it's there.

I think time itself would fix the problem. I wouldn't do anything if I were you. It might make it worse. Over time the area with original color will discolor to match the rest of the rim.

I received the exact same reaction on a Dutch cycling forum. I just don't like shaving my legs, I just train harder to circumvent that!

i think thats depending more on the different light.

very nice project.

i although just stripped my stevens frame, using chemical stripper and a scrapper. 600/800/1000 abrasive paper for fine tuning.
contrary to your giant, top layer of my stevens looked very inconsistent, so i partly fogged it with small amount of matte black varnish
using wax as well, but transparent shoe creme achieved nicer finish.
weight saving about 100 gr (now 769 gr. naked size 54-frame)

And easy took the decals off the wheel. The glue however was a PITA.

Why do people remove the big decals on DA wheels, but leave all the little ones on? I've seen it quite a few times now.
