light fork 1" steerer and clearance for 30mm tires
Moderator: robbosmans
Yea I know, hard to find. It's for a friend. His new steel bike's 1" fork is 800g and he'd like something lighter, but with clearance for 30mm tires. He's got long reach caliper brakes for this bike.

Just checked my 1" Nashbar carbon fork. It would clear a true 30 mm wide tire with about 2 mm each side and more on top. No special brake.
There's sometimes a buggy.
How many drivers does a buggy have?
One.
So let's just say I'm drivin' this buggy...
and if you fix your attitude you can ride along with me.

If your friend is willing to spend a bit of money ($649 I believe), Mike Lopez at Holland Cycles makes custom carbon forks. He was with Reynolds (I recall) and worked with Serotta before Holland. I think his main things now is making carbon framesets.
