Over the past 10 years or so, because of the type of bike shop we run, have tested hundreds of high-end bikes

But the other day, tested a Sarto Trama - and it was amazing!!!
The Trama isn't even their top end model, so not quite sure why it felt so good - perhaps it was the custom geometry of the particular customer whose bike it was, or whether it was the whole package (di2 + fulcrum zero carbons) just working like a dream in the conditions that day - but it was like a Specialissima, a Zero7, a C60 and an F8 all rolled into one!

Did the 70 mile test ride in one gear harder than i would normally ride all the way round - got back in the workshop, loaded the Garmin to Strava - Pbs all the way round and didn't feel like I'd got remotely close to riding on the rivet, so there must have been some magic in there somewhere!!! :D

My wish list:

1) Sub 800g
2) Aero influenced (does not need to be a Madone level of aero!)
3) Direct mount brakes
4) Threaded BB

All this in a package which has geometry that works for me - I have long legs and a shorter upper body so a bike with a smaller reach measurement while preserving a reasonable stack height as I tend to have a high seat for my height. Something like a SuperSix or an Aeroad are unfortunately not candidates.

Does not hit all the marks but so far I would say the Emonda SLR is towards the top of my list, as is the Pinarello Gan RS.

Any others that I should be considering? (I ride a 2015 Cervelo R3 right now)

Cheers
Mark

the two that would stand out for accommodating all of your wishlist are the Sarto Lampo and the Epoca R60

both also have a custom geometry + sizing option, so your long legs/short body issue can easily be annulled
:)

1. Madone 9 so fast, wonderful integration and performance, handles quite well and very comfortable for long days, fits 28+s. just have to get over the fact that its a Trek
2. C59 slow non aero frame but enjoyable predictable ride at reasonable weight and highly durable
3. EP

huge gap in ride quality/enjoyment/handling
Dogma

R3

My experiences are limited to bikes i've owned and ridden on vacation, but i'd have to say that my current c-59 is the best road bike I've ever had, followed by my Firefly for gravel/winter riding. I've been fortunate in that every new bike I've purchased has been better than the one it replaces. For the first time I am not looking forward to replacing a road bike I'm that satisfied with the c-59. I may tinker with the Firefly at some point but I don't really ride it often enough to justify purchasing more expensive wheels or group sets and for the riding I do on it, I may not even notice a difference.
