I've always felt that Veloflex sized their clinchers on the small side. So today I measured brand new right out of the box Veloflex 25mm Masters and the new Vittoria Corsa G+ 25mm. The method I used was simply laying the clincher flat on a table and measuring bead edge-bead edge. The results:
Veloflex Master 25mm 6.5cm wide
Vittoria CorsaG+ 25mm 7.1cm wide

For comparison, the worn Vittoria open corsa 23mm being replaced was 6.5cm wide. So sizewise, a 23mm Vittoria equates to a 25mm Veloflex.
With this size discrepancy in mind, I emailed Veloflex in Italy and asked if they had plans to introduce a 27mm Master (or Open Arenberg clincher). Their reply: absolutely not.

I have ridden Tufo, and conti competition tubulars. As an update, I have ridden two 24 hour road races with nearly 600 miles in those two events, plus two double centuries and another century. Nearly 1000 miles on the tires and the rear still looks new. Tires are super supple and the comfort level is much better than the Conti's and definitely the Tufo tires.
