Hi,
I am buying an orbea orca and wanted some advice on sizing. I am 178cm (5'10'') with an inseam of 83cm (33in) with no shoes.
After entering these details into the orbea website it tells me that I need a 53 frame. I currently have a 54 specialised but this has a completely differenet bike geometry as it is 15 years old. I test rode the 53 orca last night and it felt really good but my LBS didn't have the 55 to compare to.
Calling anyone out there with the same measurements as me or knowledge of this bike who could help on best frame size (53 or 55 frame)

What are your bike measurements?

I have exactly the same height as you and my inseam is maybe 1cm longer. I would say take 53 for sure, unless you are really not flexible or have very short arms (mine are average length for my height). Orca has quite upright geometry (380/552 reach/stack for the 53 frame size), my current bike (Sempre pro 55) has 386/545 reach/stack and i run it with almost slammed -20deg 120mm stem. So i would take the 53 orca and run it with -17 120-130mm stem to get the similar position, anyone who prefers less drop could use -6/-7deg stem, maybe even some spacers under it. Size 55 has stack figure of 572mm, that's really a lot for the frame with 386mm reach, more into gran-fondo then pure racing bike geometry...
I am 183cm and riding a 55cm Orca. I have 83cm inseam but longer arms than average.
So I have 1.5cm dust cap under my 120mm -8 degree stem.
This frame has a really tall head tube so I believe handlebars will be too high for you in size 55.

You may all laugh, but this is my story. I am 5'8 and have an inseam of 30.5cm. I as a new rider ended up buying a used Orca. Size 55cm (i know you are probably all shocked or rolling in laughter).. I didnt really understand the importance of size so I was stuck with the bike. Nevertheless I made it work. went from a setback post to straight, and a 120mm stem to 90, and I slammed the stem. Anyway I'd go with the 53cm if I could again...but the bike was just something i fell in love with and paid around 800.

Again, the bikes is awesome! And works great, but there was a headache of getting fit appropriately and getting new stuff.
Sorry i don't know how to post pictures it says all my pics are too large
