The RD is the master, so I imagine that it should work with no FD.

So - I connected rear mech to blip box wirelessly and plugged two blips in. Didn't try to connect the front mech. Read mech shifts up and down and pressing both blips does nothing. Ie it did not self combust and the rear mech still works fine in both directions.

1*11 definitely possible via blips/blip box

This is great news. So you can do a fair bit with the eTap. For my Tri bike I could run CLIC's in the aerobars and then BLIP's down by the brake levers, please the blip box on my TriRig stem and just run a rear derailleur.

For a 1 X 11 road set up you could run a fairly simple 1 X 11 set up using blips, blip box and RD. It would not be expensive if you bought some S-900 levers and you could put the blip under the hoods. Cheaper set up but the only issue is the blip box BUT you could use a over/under mount for the garmin with the garmin above and the blip box under. A bit chunky but could be done.

I'm currently contemplating, cutting the blip cable, joining the blips from the brake lever and extensions onto one cable each and extending it, running through the down tube and up the seat tube so that the box can be mounted under my saddle on the TT bike...just haven't plucked up the courage.

Resurrecting an old thread here, but I'm also contemplating extending the blip wires. Has anyone had success with this?
