I had to mark other
.. Swiss stop black prince. On the other hand make sure you use what your rim manufacturer suggest

Yes rim manufacturers can be sticky about saying only use their pads.

That said, when the red/black Campy pads came out a couple of years ago you could see a number of pro tour teams running them on various brands of wheels........

I think the best choice are whatever the manufacturer recommends; that way you won't void the any warranty.

I don't have wide enough experience to claim they are "the best", but Reynolds Blue work very well (and I am using them with Reynolds Rims).

With my bontrager wheels i like the cork pads. Black prince pads are the only other pad trek recommends to not void warranty and they were terrible.

I use Swissstop Black Prince on my Bontrager Aeolus D3 5's and am very happy with them. They work great in the wet or dry.

In the dry, cork is still the best.

Different rims work best with different pads. On some rims cork is great, on others it's terrible and will void the warranty.
However I can say that SwissStop Yellows should never be used- there are other pads (I.e. their Black pads) that work better on the same types of rims. The Yellows put more heat into rims. I know a Trek dealer who regularly sees Bontrager rims ruined by Yellows.

Rim makers will not honor the warranty on rims ruined by using the wrong pads.

I've had great experience using the ZIPP Tangente Platinum Pro (grey) pads on my FarSports rims. Just a bit better than the Reynolds Blue, which were already pretty darn good.

I went from Swisstop Yellows to Black Price on Chinese carbon and they are certainly better.
I had a set of blue pads that worked well also, but I am liking the black Prince.

The best carbon rim brake pads are the ones that came with your wheelset. I am using the Campagnolo red pads on my Bora rims. Most companies will void your warranty if you use a different brake pad. I believe the companies have tested their brake pad/rim combination to give the best braking performance and heat dissipation. You don't want to put more heat into the rim than necessary by using an unauthorized brake pad, especially on carbon clinchers.
