Anyone running this combo? How much tweaking is necessary to make it work?

Yes I run it with my Parlee z5sli
Hardly any tweaking at all.. Adjust bscrew because I was running 11/26 before... Now my bike runs 11/26-28-30 no prob. All SRAM 1190s

I have been using this combo for the past 18 months and it's running flawlessly. Make sure you get the B-screw correctly.

I have run an 11-32 cassette as well, although I flipped the b tension screw around to get the extra height of the screw head. Wasn't perfect, but certainly worked well enough to get me all around Italy

Some tandems are running low gearing in the back with 9070. Santana cycles has commissioned a third party to make a custom mid cage to safely run this combo and more. The upgrade cage could be sold as an accessory by Santana. If not perhaps they will sell you a new modified RD.

In the old 7970 series, it was possible to swap out a Ultegra 6700 GS cage to fit or even use the old Yumeya XTR bits. Not sure if its still possible with the 9070 and the 6800 series though.

I have a 6870 Ultegra DI2 with Rotor 36/52, do you think a 11-30 will also fit for me ?

If you use 6870 with a medium cage?

Yes, that works with minimum 28 and maximum 32.

To those who said it works, please post pictures of the small gear/ small chainring and the large gear/ large chainring combinations. The mid-cage is designed to take up the chain slacks in the extreme cross-chain gear combos. Without the mid cage the chain will be either too long or too short in the extreme cross-chain gear combos.

I highly doubt you can run a 32 along with the large chainring up front, and a 11 with the small chainring up front. To get 11-32 gearing you'll need a mid sized cage to take up the chain slack. Here are two pics of the Ultegra Di2 mid-cage with the 11-32. There's a good reason why you need a different RD when using 11-32.
