A vote for Sram red tape here. Nice and grippy!

Bontrager gel grip is a good, grippy tape for $30. The tape is smooth but still offers a grippy surface amd good padding. It's pretty durable as well as stretchable and re-wrapable. It is my favorite tape.

Pro has some smart silicon tape that is grippy and padded but wears more quickly.

I like both of those tapes better than lizard skins, which always wore through or unwrapped (and is not re-wrapable). The 2.5 is too thick and no shops carry 1.8. Lizard skins tape is a huge rip off IMO.

Pro Digital Carbon Smart Silicon has a similar texture and offers about the same padding as the 2.5 dsp and doesn't seem to suffer from the shedding. Packaged weight was 88gm including plugs.

This Zevlin tape is fantastic. Non slip, very hard wearing, easy to wrap, and cheap.

Weights anyone? Looks like Deda Trafarato holds the candle at 32 grams.

Maybe it's the wrong forum to ask this question, but why would anyone look at the weight of the bar tape instead of the feeling. Same with all the other contact points..

Because its weightweenies. ^

I like the sram branded supersport gel bar tape. Good grip without gloves even when wet. Plus its cheap.

Selle Italia Smootape Gran Fondo has a similar plastic feeling, that I don't like...

95g a set... Heavy stuff!

I went for perforated, I personally think it helps with sweaty palms.
