Once my new wheels are built I will replace the unbranded (and no doubt heavy) skewers that came on my Supersix.
I have been looking into what to replace them with, I have seen the uber lightweight bolt on type ones on eBay etc but have some reservations about how well they would hold and the quality. I have used Mt Zoom before on a mtb years ago and remember them to be pretty good.
Also considering KCNC, what are people's opinions and experiences? Are the very lightweight ones reliable? Do they allow the rear wheel to flex unnecessarily etc?
Thanks in advance

I have a set of the KCNC grooved road skewers and have no complaints. Others have noted having to do more tighten after closing the quick release but I haven't had those issues. Otherwise they are sturdy and have lived up to my expectations.

this is what i use on my Scott Addict.. love them!

i was using the Ti skewers that came with my Farsport wheelset, but noticed those weren't internal compression type and started to eat/rub into my carbon hanger. went with the Tune and problem solved.

I've had really good luck with Zipp Ti skewers. I like that they have a brass bushing and no plastic. I've been able to find them cheap on ebay from time to time.

KCNC is cheap and reliable. Ti or steel depending on how light you want to go.

I vote for KCNC as well. I own steel version, trouble free for many years.

I own both the steel kcnc and the tune 14. I'd vote for the tune! Seems and feels much stronger and sturdier. It's also beautiful.
I will replace the kcnc with the tunes soon on my other bike.

If the Aliens 4 are as good as the Mk3, with their 39g and outstanding functionality, we have a winner.
By far the best skewers I've had so far including kcnc, zipp, mavic and few others.

Another vote for the Tune internal cam skewers. Got two sets of them. 50g the pair, sturdy and good looking, and none of that exposed cam rubbish.

never a problem with the KCNC Ti or steel skewers (I have a pair of each). No plastic washers, secure. I've used them for about 4 years.

Went through my WW and used KCNC Ti skewers for years without issue. Went back to the trusty 7800 skewers for my latest build.

@mpulsiv - thanks for the link, I actually hadn't seen it.
KCNC seem to have a decent following, and are very reasonably priced for their weight. I think I may pick up a titanium set.
