What's going on with Shimano

Before the official release of Dura Ace 9000, spyshots began to emerge in mid March. When I say spyshots I mean near production ready photos on pro tour bikes. This time around, there's been practically none except for three grainy shots taken in Tiawan and 1 shot of a power meter on an FDJ bike. As pointed out the Taipei shots may have been plastic mock ups, and in any case had pretty bad resolution. Point being, compared to last time there's very little visual information (Velonews broke info on it, but no photos, and who really knows about the veracity). What's the delay? I thought we'd have more photos by now, unless Shimano is being incredibly secretive or will launch later than expected. Any ideas here?

The problem is they withdraw their advertising of the media that leak what they don't want to be leaked or write a review which conclusion is other than "this is the best stuff around". and both the industry and the media have become Shimano-dependant to a very large extent.
As of today, the cycling industry is Shimano's industry.

there could be tons of reasons:
1) Shimano hasn't finalized the design and is still considering important changes
2) ensuring SRAM can't copy
3) Shimano wants more control of the information flow for when they do announce
My bet is on #1. I heard from a knowledgeable bike shop that Shimano is unsure of mechanical support. There could be
other specs in flux
