Road bar testing Round 2
Moderator: robbosmans
Just finished putting together the 2nd round of road bar testing. Added 11 new bars bringing the total to 27. Complete results can be found here: http://blog.fairwheelbikes.com/reviews- ... ar-review/
Also currently working on new rim and hub review as well as an update for the stem testing all coming in the next few months.

Very cool and informative! Keep up the good work!

Cool. Not sure if apples to apples though. Did you measure as close to 44cm at the center widest point? Or outside of the bars.
Some bars were "compact" others were? Example, I own a set of Shimano Pro Carbon Compact UD800, 42cm. They weigh 220g.
Some of the bars have several models.
Thanks for the info. I already knew the Shimano were the stiffest over any carbon bars I've had, hands down. Yet, they are good as your article mentions at stiff dampening certain frequencies, as carbon in general does over aluminum. Which on a Scott Foil, is helpful with ride quality. Bike is already stiff enough all over.

Thanks for putting these tests together. Really makes it a lot of easier for "larger" guys to narrow down bar choices!!
I'll have to swing by your shop, next time I make the trip down the I-10 to Tucson!!

Thanks! This is a great update. It's always useful to have all this information one one webpage for comparison and actual measurements.
Another great test. Thanks for the info @madcow

I think this is just an update to v1, rather than a whole different test.

Wow interesting. I have the 3t Ergonova and the Specialised Aerofly and would have put the Aerofly as much stiffer. I can feel the Ergonava flex when sprinting on them and I have not been able to fell any flex with the Aerofly. Maybe it is more the stem flexing that I can feel, they are both on cheap alloy stems.
