Hello all,

Putting together a parts list for a Moots Vamoots CR build this summer....

Plan is to do a full Ultegra build, probably a moots ti seatpost or enve post.

Looking for opinions on what is the best budget minded cockpit witout gaudy logos? Hoping to keep the bars and stem around $100 each.
There seems to be a ton of options: thomson, ritchey, 3t, fizik, zipp, etc.

Who has the nicest stuff?

Thanks,
Jon

Define "cockpit".

Also, with all the other components you list, what is the point of cost savings in this one area?

If it's only bars and stem you're looking for, any stem can be de-logo'ed or painted. And bars can be taped over.

What is the main mission of this bike?

If you mean just handlebars and stem then I've had good luck with Ritchey WCS stuff, fairly light and not too loud.

Another option is to try a Kalloy Uno 7 ultralight stem and acetone out the logos and get Ti bolts. In shorter lengths it's sub 100g IIRC. Gives a similar finish to the battle black Ritchey bars.
I write the weightweenies blog, hope you like it :)

Disclosure: I'm sponsored by Velocite, but I do give my honest opinion about them (I'm endorsed to race their bikes, not say nice things about them)

All the brands you list are good. I'd find the bars with the shape, reach and drop that you want and then match the stem and post to that.

I recently picked up a Fizik stem and the quality is great, a very nice looking stem. The matching bars are good too although their seatpost is pretty weighty and has some well known issues.
Zipp parts in the beyond black scheme is always a winner though!

zipp in beyond black is indeed pretty nice looking and I like the SL70 bar. On my other bike I have a Fizik stem and handlebar and I have no complaints either. The fizik bar is pretty 'thick' on the tops so if you have smaller hands this might be a problem.
But I could be wrong

I would vote for Ritchey or 3T bars - have had good experience with both of them. 3T stems (except those Ti bolt breaking issues) - also good, but the K-Unos from Ebay are lighter and cheaper - a win/win situation :D
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike

I am totally sold on Ritchey WCS EvoMax and WCS C220 alu stem. A great cheap combo.
But that is if you'd like the 12 degree drop flare of the bars?
