I fly RC models/drones (so very familiar on latest technology with brushless motors, speed controllers, and batteries) and some of the motor tech he says is complete crap. The rear wheel having magnets inside the rim and then the stator hidden inside the chain stays? Completely bullshit that wouldn't work as they say. The windings are too far from the magnets inside the rim (big efficiency loss) and the stators would be way too small to provide usable torque. On a bike stand the rim may spin for show, but you could stop it by hand. Same for the hub motor. You cannot fit any motor inside any commercial hub that would provide any reasonable power. And even still, there would be a wire sticking out into the frame (no wheel change). The only plausible way is a full custom hub where the axle is the stator and the hubshell is the bell (has the magnets glued to it). So far the only real tech that would work, are the motors that slot into the seat tubes, which we know do work.

The RC pilot needs to check out this clip:

That bike absolutely has an electric driven rear wheel. At on point, Ryder has the wheel pinned to the ground, and comes to a full-stop. Then, the wheel moves on it's own. That is not momentum spinning that wheel.

let's see, either a) the crank is shoved as he unclips, which gives impetus to the wheel, then we see a light thing with kinetic energy from the unclip and potential energy from gravity, roll down hill then slightly up again, in accordance with the well tested conservation laws of physics; or b) it's a motor! it's a motor!

Oh, best reply I've seen in months!!!
If you want to see 'meh' content of me and my bike you can follow my life in pictures here!'Tape was made to wrap your GF's gifts, NOT hold a freakin tire on.'
Sungod, I can't tell which side you're on.
You don't think Ryder drove that crank even a single centimeter during the unclip, do you?

Here's a Mavic hub not too far removed from the one Ryder had. Show us where the parts go, what parts and how the power gets through the skewer to the motor.

Thanks for posting. I hadn't seen this before and it's eye opening.

You could easily have power to one stay and ground on the other. Once the skewer was tightened, the connection would be made.
The motor parts are different, I could not butcher the parts inside that space, but I believe someone could. Remember, you do not need a lot, an extra 50 watts would help all of us.
It's just another form of cheating. As long as there is competition, there will be cheating.
