My current carbon cages mark the hell out of my nice bottles that have designs I'd like to preserve. I know King Cage is supposed to be non marking but I don't like the steel or Ti look on my black carbon frame.

Anyone have suggestions for black bottle cages that won't mark up bottles?

How long do you keep bottles for!?

They are essentially a disposable item for me and I regularly change them...

Arundels are fairly good in that regard. And avoid riding/racing in the rain and make sure you clean the cages once in a while.

I use bottles to clean off my tires from debris if I don't want to palm them with a glove(its cleaner for bar tape and also safer when clearing off the rear) so I say bottles that show character are cooler than new looking ones.

I have some that are 10+ years old. Still in regular rotation.

Welcome! I learned that trick from riding/racing TT bikes especially riding without gloves this comes in handy. Now that many road bikes also don't have clearance for placing a hand between the seat tube and seat stays its almost required. Using the bottle removes all the risk of sucking your hand in the rear brake or in the seat tube.

Sorry, what kind of debris is it that you need to "palm" or spray away with a water bottle (if I understand correctly) off a tyre?

Broken glass, metal etc you may inadvertently ride through or get embedded in the tire. You dont spray water but rather use the bottom or side of the bottle to rub over the spinning wheel to dislodge shards.

I've tried a few different cages and the Arundel Sport seems to be pretty good at not being scratchy scratchy.

For those of you wondering why, it's because I'm involved with this Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/bidonsnotbottles/

Which hopefully explains why I want to keep my bidons looking fresh :-)

Did you need to post the link, I now have a desire to buy more bidons.
