When i go to tighten the seatpost clamp to the 5nm the clamp ends up completely closed and each side touching. Today the bolt broke. Im thinking its the stress that broke it due to the clamp being bottomed out. Its the factory clamp as far as i know. I dont see a stamp on it stating that its a 30.0 but it seems to fit like it should.

Ok solved. When I extracted the remnants of the broken bolt the threads were a bit messed up. Ran my m5 tap through and picked up a new stainless bolt from ace. Everything mates up nice and smooth now. With this new bolt the 5nm comes sooner then before. With a normal looking gap in the collar and not fully squeezed together like before. That old bolt must have been soft which allowed it to stretch?

The clamp is kind of crappy, I also snapped mine torquing to 5Nm. The metal seems crazy soft. I'd suggest getting a different seatpost collar, the diameter is 30.0mm. I'm using a Hope collar and tightened to 4Nm it has been perfectly fine.
