Black + silver, does it 'go'?
Moderator: robbosmans
Hi.
Just popping my first post cherry.
Got a Giant Advanced TCR Pro 0 coming end of Apr (earliest Giant could send some out). Tried getting the Pro 1 and it just wasn't happening. So went up a tad in price and spec
Has anyone ever contemplated, or even began painting their crank black. The bike looks sexual but that glaringly silvery shiny crankset is crying out to be painted black.
Is this a good idea? Has anybody done this? If so, gizza look :
Also, can many people vouch for the quality of this bike?
Thanks.

You can anodize them.

Too each their own I guess. Personally, I think Dura-Ace cranks are ugly, it was one of the main reasons I didn't go with Shimano on my bike. I wouldn't think twice about plasti-dip painting them. Oh well.

On WW, nothing should be sacred.
Unfortunately a large portion of our membership hold any brand name, bling, and warranty, sacred.

Some silver is nice! Personally, I'm a little tired of the all black carbon + all black groupset look. That was super cool 10 years ago when carbon was newish. Now, I'm really for nice paint jobs again.

If you do paint, just bear in mind that you probably scratch them with you shoes.
Anodize is an idea, but if you do, you need to check what type of alu it is, or the anodizing can come out not so good.
Also have them super clean!
Honestly, i would not do that!
I have left things for anodizing and the results were mixed!
