I can admit, i have trouble riding around in my Casco Speedairo due to the fact i feel i am catching to much attention and i am simply not that fast.
So, team kit, ... i would pay to not be forced to ride with it.

Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

I'd say jerseys yes, full kit no.

My favourite pro kit ever has to be Euskaltel-Euskadi's. Perfect euro-pro look...

I still take out my Mapei-GB jersey from '95 every now and then.

It's equal to a pro NFL/NBA/etc. jersey with another man's name on the back...so NO!

When I am riding, what I or anyone else is wearing is just about the very furthest thing from my mind.

My mind is usually filled with walking the gossamer-thin tightrope between "being able to continue at this pace" and "puking". It doesn't leave much room for fashion opinions. But that's just me. Now I have to think about "puking" and "do I look like a dork?"

I always ASSUMED I look like a dork, and so I might as well have fun.

That wearing team colours in every other sport is acceptable but somehow taboo in cycling reeks of the kind of snobbery that puts people off riding. If you're not the kind of person to wear team kit that's fine but don't be a tool about it to someone who is.

With the caveat that anyone can wear what they like I think it's acceptable that if you had say a vintage/retro bike then you could wear the jersey that matched the combination i.e. Pantani jersey acceptable with a Bianchi or that era, or Banesto kit with a vintage pinarello etc

I think a complete kit would be a bit OTT though. But again, wear whatever floats your boat.

FWIW I think the Mapei kit rivaled the Carrera Jeans and Footon as the ugliest kit ever made so would probably not touch that one.

This is the one aspect of road cycling that annoys the heck out of me. Dudes are too worried about aesthetics, how they look on the bike, kit, sock height, mixing components. Its ridiculous.

Some of these threads are akin to teenage girls at the mall giggling and gossiping.

Surely when I wear a messi jersey to play soccer, no one is going to think I'm Messi. Ditto wearing team jerseys for cycling. Just wear what you like.
