I was thinking about buying a Ribble Sportive Racing with mechanical Ultegra as a second bike. For under $2,000 US you can get a full Ultegra group (no FSA!), Deda cockpit and decent wheels. However, I'm curious about the quality of the frame. Toray T700/T800 sounds good, but I don't know enough about carbon frame manufacturing to evaluate it. I presume the frame is somewhere between a Chinarello and an S Works Tarmac to use low-end and high-end benchmarks. Can anyone provide some insights?

I just went through the bike builder and after putting it in my cart and adding shipping to US it is $1518.11 with Ultegra. I almost want to get one now because that seems stupid cheap even with their budget wheels and finishing parts.

Bike Radar gave it a great review. Of course their review was for the Dura Ace build with upgraded wheels and parts but still same frame

I know nothing about this frame but Ribble is a solid company, and I don't believe they are pushing substandard merchandise.
There's sometimes a buggy.
How many drivers does a buggy have?

One.

So let's just say I'm drivin' this buggy...
and if you fix your attitude you can ride along with me.

It's the first frame they actually designed in house. The rest of their frames are open mold. Per the reviews, it's 1100g so not worthy of weight weenie build but it's supposed to deliver a great ride in between endurance and racing geometry

For a 2nd bike I'd be combing ebay or Craigslist for a killer deal. You can often find a nice frame that is 5 years old that was hardly ever ridden. My first nice frame was a Time VXS for $600. It was like new - once again, it spent more time in the garage than on the road. My second score was a Parlee Z4 with Chorus 10 speed for $1000. The bike was flawless - rich guy who thought he wanted to ride but hardly ever did.

Then buy the group from Ribble!
