I can get a great deal on a bike with either 2014 Super record or 2015 Record and I can't decide... I far prefer the look of the 2014 (and it's super record!!!!!) but am I going to regret it when I can't get spares now the cable ratios have changed?

Thoughts welcome...

Go for 2014 super record. No problem. I could even find 1996 record parts.

Worry about spare parts is not the issue. That's silly.

I believe that the 2015 redesign was an improvement, based on everything I have read. Plus the only real difference between SR and R is the lightness in the wallet.

I'd go 2015. You might as well look forward. You could always get the 2014 crank if the 4 arm crank isn't pleasing to your eye.

The 2014 rear derailleurs are scarce already. They cost more than the 2015 too. Outside of that, the performance on the 2015 is much better too.

It's the cost of spare parts you should be worried about - Campag charge far too much.

Was thinking I might just buy a spare rear mech now, but it's sods law that the levers will go first and cause me to change everything else... Perhaps you're right – buy 2015 and eBay the cranks for 2014

I would not worry about spare parts at all. Ebay is always full of stuff. You can go right now and find a rear derailleur for any era (Nuovo Record, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 speed...

I like the look of the 2015 cranks. I'd go that way.

I often find myself wishing for better performance from my 2014 SR...

Go to the shop and order 2014 super record.
You can find easily spare parts in ebay.

I'd get the 2015 stuff. The rubber on the hoods is really nice, I just like the feel. Plus, the front derailleur is better, so long as you set it up correctly. The new four arm crank allows all combinations of chainrings to be used with it, so you don't need a two completely separate cranks if you want to switch between chaingrings occasionally. The rear derailleur allows for quicker and more engaged chain wrap, although I didn't notice it directly. Perhaps if your hanger was more forward and shorter than the Colnago hangers you might notice that more, don't know.

Only minus is double-click for downshift on front. For me .. downgrade. Otherwise, no doubts '15 is better performer. Crank... regardless its ugliness and increased weight, Campa chainring pricing always forced users to buy 2nd crank ( Chorus f.e. ) instead of 2 chainrings.. similar price.
