Moderator: robbosmans

Is there any play after installing the cassette/mounted on the bike with skewers tightened?
Have you tried changing to a different freehub? Any difference?

has LW Dt swiss freehub?
put wheel in frame and tighten skewers

It's a standard DT Swiss freehub, so maybe ask their tec. support?
I service mine twice a year. You just pull off the outer casing to expose and clean the mechanism inside, no nuts or bolts to undo. A bit tricky to do with the bare hub so I do it with the cassette still on, wife holding the wheel and me pulling on the cassette, fingers behind the largest sprocket, it lets quit suddenly!! Plenty of YouTube videos demonstrating how to do it. Special grease is supposed to be needed to service it. Quite expensive if you can find it! Without the service I eventually get a horrible creaking when pushing low gears up big hills...

If so, and you want a bit of "dirt", you can read my full tale with Carbonsports about it here:

If you aren't bothered about the details, basically replace the DT Swiss 190 bearings for a DT Swiss 240, and that should sort it. Mines been ok for 10K miles since I did that.
And yep, about twice a year I grease the insides up now, mainly when the noisy ratchet starts getting on my nerves. I don't free wheel much/at all, but man it gets loud when its really dry in there.
