I'll never forget reviewing the Slice RS for a mag and the mag mechanic begging me not to break a gear cable - as assembling the bike had nearly brought him to tears. Only bike he said has ever gotten him to that point  truthfully eTap would be perfect for it. Fast rig, handled well. But working on it...

Very much now looking forward to Eurobike to see what drops.

Our shop actually bought a bunch of RSs back from Cannondale that other shops couldn't build! The first ones that came through we had to get 3d printed cable guides specially made.

C'dale are not going to make that mistake again! The new Slice they arguably went too far the other way (for the market), the next one should be the best of both, I hope.

Hi,
1st Post, so hope this is the right thread

I know the caad12 was a new bike for 2016. Bike of the year. I'm looking at the caad12 105 disc. Yes, I know there's lighter options.

This will be My first road bike purchase
So, probably not too much of a spec bump 2016 vs 2017?

My question..in trying to find the spec differences for the above?
I am unable to locate a spec sheet--USA
Any differences?

Thank you kindly

I believe it is a run-on model - so the 2016 and 2017 are identical, even down to the paint.

I'm pretty sure that won't be a big change (2016 vs 2017), especially because they just launched the caad12 this year. So if you see a caad12 with a spec that appeals to you, I wouldn't wait.

There is gonna be a new color line with slightly different models. Probably they will launch it with the new CAAD Optimo.

It's from a cannondale dealer facebook post:

None of those photos are the 105 disc, and I do believe that specifically that model is a run-on for 2017. Just like for instance there are a whole bunch of new Synapse colours, but the SM Ultegra disc has a run-on black/white colour model.

Uh-oh. I'm sorry, you are right. Next time I'll try to read what the question is about.

New Synapse is already in the works.

Slap rim brakes on it and it could be half decent.

Are there any updates to the existing rim brake Slice?

Interestingly enough, they did (sort of), and tested it. http://www.slowtwitch.com/Tech/Disc_and ... _6073.html

I think Tom A's post on kinda sums it up. It gets a bit more complicated comparing the systems that bikes seem to want to be, than being able to stick a similar set of components on a frame and compare them like we used to.
