no it's not photoshopped. The "short" stem is just the standard length for a TT basebar. I'm not convinced that the bike shown was ever ridden with drops and that it was just a silly mockup.

That's how the Slice RS stem is. But consider that it only looks super short because it's coming off the outer 'fairing' part of the fork. It's actually still about 100mm from the steerer tube.

It's looking boring but I would like to see it with another colorway.

Of course it's boring. It's meant to be a nondescript test model.

aero bike look 90% the same(thus boring).. I guess that pretty much makes sense when you think about it. Colorway is the only way to make it "special" .

Can confirm it will be called System Six. I like it, nice hark back to the past.

Geo will be a little more aggressive too.

Is this the first Cannondale bike built from the ground up by Damon Rinard?

There’s a double thread going on here. As far as I can tell this is the first ground up design by Damon Rinard. The synapse would have already been in the works when he arrived. As far as the “discs on a. Aero bike” thing, I imagine that Rinard and Vroomen are both far more familiar with aerodynamics than the rest of us so won’t jidge on that topic.

Here’s a slightly more flattering angle. Note it’s a 58 so still a bit stretched out.

I don't remember where I read this, might have been when the disc only Scott Foil or Giant Propel were released or when all the latest tri bikes went disc only... but, apparently discs (rotors and calipers) are in an area where the air is already pretty 'dirty' so adding them supposedly doesn't hurt too much... and then the seatstays and the fork crown areas can be made much slicker to offset any drag penalty from discs. So from the front, bikes with discs can be made as aero as with rim brakes. There's probably a slight penalty in full side wind due to the rotors, perhaps more regarding stability than aerodynamics...

Also, discs add weight, but aero bikes are already not super light and they are used more on flat terrain so discs hurt less than on lighter climbing or all-around bikes. But then, better breaking is more important in the mountains...

Gotta get used to discs guys, most high-end bikes going forward will be designed with discs only.

I couldn't retrieve my old username and password for some reason, so I had to start over. It looks good to me. I am looking at this or the new SuperSlice Disc as a TT specific bike. I just sold my 2017 Fuji SL Disc so that I can go with a Synapse Carbon Ultegra SE as my standard mixed terrain/road endurance ride and pair it with TT bike. Excited to get more details.
