Have you ever heard of a tubeless road tire that can only be used on hookless rims? I've got a customer with some variety of Schwalbe Pro Ones claiming his tire cannot be put on a standard rim.

Never seen anything like that and the cycling media would have picked up on it if it were true.

Not sure I heard that one before. But the opposite is true, hookless rims like Zipp only allow a specific type of tyre. A friend had his Zipp wheels in a shop and they installed the wrong tires due to lack of knowledge.

It makes sense to me that hookless rims can't use non-tubeless tires cuz without the hooks it relies on a tubeless bead with good tolerances to stay on. I guess that's what the guy heard and mixed it up.
