I am wondering how I can tell if I got the correct chain for 11sp? I am assuming 9, 10 and 11sp chain are all different.

They are all different yes. Assuming the chain is already installed, what is stamped on the side of the links?

If there's no stamping on the links, then the only other way is to measure.

11 speed will measure 5.5 mm wide. 10 speed will measure 5.9 mm. 9 speed 6.6 mm.
There's sometimes a buggy.

One.

So let's just say I'm drivin' this buggy...
and if you fix your attitude you can ride along with me.

They have a different space. So you have to choose right speed chain.

It is an imprecise science. The original Campag 10 speed was 6.2 before the change to 5.9.
