So I've read around that people advise to get the 'new version' that has different bolts. Is there an easy way to tell the difference between the versions visually?

Not sure exactly what you mean by new version with different bolts, but assume you mean the version with steel bolts instead of ti? If so the version you are looking for is the AL75. It's laser etched on the side of the post. http://fairwheelbikes.com/kcnc-ti-pro-l ... -seatpost/

Maybe I got the wrong idea, but I've definitely read that the Ti Pro Lite was updated at some point. I think the Ti bolts were faulty.

It was changed, but it was a while ago, and I doubt you'd end up with the older versions. Pretty much, though, the current version has M6 bolts, not the previous, more usual M5. It's not an issue, really. Most similarly designed posts use M5 bolts, some in Ti as well.

Where it will become problematic is if you order aftermarket yokes, as 99% of them take an M5.

Ah, long time ago then. Sounds like what I'd seen before. Thanks!
