Any opinions on new or older version of the Specialized Axis 4.0 Disc wheelset, regarding spokes tension, flex, or any other problems?
https://www.specialized.com/us/en/axis- ... -ta/114529
I found some different, not best opinions, regarding older QR models of Axis 4.0, especially regarding spokes and low spokes tension.
I am aware, that they are cheap and more or less training wheels, but I wouldn't like to be a regular visitor at in local Specialized service. :?

Not looking for different wheelset for this second winter bike.
The new derailleur hanger, now allows any other non-SCS wheelset with 12x135mm adapter to be fitted on.
I'm just looking for opinions on this stock wheelset, if I will have potential problems in the future.
Don't want to spend any extra money on a wheelset for this bike.

They are speced on the diverge. Pretty robust feeling from my time on them so far on a demo bike that has copped plenty of dirt. Still run true.

Thanks for info.
On the first glance, everything looks good for the price. Maybe spoke tension is not that high, guess I am more use to carbon wheels.

For a winter beater they will be ideal. Get the tension checked after a couple of rides. Lube the nipples to stop them locking up and just beat on them :)

Ideally, you'd want 28/28 on disc rims regardless of rider weight.
Axis 4.0 (21mm inner, 26mm outer) look good on paper ~1600 grams vs. ~1800 grams Fulcrum S-19 (19mm inner, 24mm outer) found on Roubaix Expert model.
