Hi all,
sorry for this silly question, but I really want to have a matching black rail with my totally black-out aero bike.
The saddle will be a specialized power pro (s-work carbon one is just way too expensive), the titanium saddle rail is in silver color.
Has anyone ever tried to paint the rail or maybe just wrap some black tape around the rails?

Tape off everything, use black enamel spray paint.

Make sure to use glossy. Tell people you did it to make it more aero.

If you want to brush, nail polish or model paint would work too.

Carbon fiber rails are faster. It's proven.

It has something to to with the oval shape of the rails, versus round rails.

Or maybe the black color absorbs light, and when light is acting as a particle, you are "pulled" through the air. It's very scientific. I can't pretend to understand it all. :beerchug:

Coming from a crash repair background I would think that getting paint to stick successfully to the metal rails [without using etch primer etc] will be difficult. What about getting a black permanent marker and trying that? If it doesn't work should be easily reversible

Thank you Steve, I will try with permanent marker first!

"Look nice"?

riochang is the only one who will ever see it. Nobody's looking at other people's seat rails. Especially in a time trial.

Yes, riochang is the one who wants an all black look and what I am saying is that the color will fade after a while.
You don't paint titanium saddle rails with a permanent marker unless you are 10 years old (I did once...).
