Has anyone ridden both the BMC Timemachine (road version) and the Teammachine ?

Considering one or the other for a new bike. Much prefer the look of the Timemachine, but worried about the fiddly aero brakes and perhaps a harsher ride quality ?
Not bothered about the weight penalty on the Timemachine as I'm a big unit.

you try to compare Aero ROAD frame to TIME TRIAL frame...

I can be wrong, and have plenty of examples for that ;)

No, he's comparing the TMR01 to the SLR01. He hasn't mentioned a TT frame at all.

Thanks Fixie82. Yes, just to clarify I'm talking about the Timemachine TMR series (not the TM series time trial bikes) in comparison to the Teammachine SLR series.

I have ridden both the TMR01 and SLR01 I raced cat1/pro and honestly I disliked the TMR01 because it was such a harsh ride. Super super fast bike, but the SLR01 was much more comfortable and I didn't feel broken after each ride.

I have ridden both bike too but 2011 version of the SLR01 so not the recent one.The SLR01 with lightweight standard was a great climbing machine. But I climbed the Col de l'Iseran (17km @6-7%) on the TMR01 with Mavic C40 on it and it was fine.
I find that the TMR01 is pretty confortable.Fast on the flats too.
Test before you buy ;)

I've ridden both the current slr and TMR frames for a year each. Which is better really depends on your priorities, but they both do a great job of exactly what you expect. The SLR is light, great ride quality, efficient pedaling. The TMR is fast, stiff as all hell, with a firm but not terribly abusive ride. The brakes are fiddly, but that's the cost of looking for free speed.
Both are great bikes for slightly different purposes, just consider which benefits are most important to you.
