Currently I use KCNC Z6 skewers and while I do not have any particular problem with them I feel like they are somewhat fragile (nut / handle). I'm not a powerful guy and I don't over tighten the skewers, but I sometimes worry to break the handles of these.

I read a bunch of reviews and it seems like that the Tune AC14 is lighter and can be tightened very well, with seemingly quite big handle. And while the ENVE Road skewer has an external cam design, it reminds me of the fulcrum skewers I use on my training bike. I've never had any problems with those and it's easy to tighten, seems robust and strong.

I'd love to hear your opinion on possible alternatives too. My priorities are tightness, strong handle and weight. Let's say less than 70g.

EDIT: Also would love to hear your opinion on Ti vs Steel. I read a lot of confusing and mixed opinion on that subject. I'm also thinking to consider the control tech race non qr skewer. I always have a multi-tool with me, so it's not a real issue to use one.

I don't know why, but my KCNC Ti skewers seem to work better than my Z6 skewers. Lately, I've begun to close them with mild pressure and then rotate them to tighten them down nice and snug. I've had my KCNC Ti skewers for 2 or 3 years now and they're still going strong.

I have the titanium Enves on 2 of my bikes. Not the lightest skewers in the world but very easy to adjust. No complaints.

I have ENVE and Tune. They both work great - Tunes are about 20 grams lighter.

If you have ENVE rims then ENVE skewers make sense - if not go for Tune - This is Weightweenies.

The enve skewers functionally are crap.. Grabby and bind up and has any one else noticed that under tension you can see right through the bush on the NDS

If the Aliens 4 at 39g retained functionality of their predecessors 3, that would be my choice.

I use Williams carbon/titanium set on my race wheels. 70g. Sweet, no problems for over a year.

And the price is right.

Look into KCNC Ti skewers. They're great skewers. Enve skewers are not the lightest but they're ok skewers.
