Guys,
I've just bought a Cannondale 3.0.....BLIND!
A blue colour with 105 8 speed grouppo and a bio pace oval chainset
I was made an offer I could not refuse and I went for it
What is the history of the Cannondale 3.0?
What were the years of manufacture?
What were the model numbers? R300??
The plan is a complete strip and re-spray and then to build it up as a functioning single speed
Any thoughts.
Thanks in advance

I have a 3.0 from the early 90's. I don't remember the exact year but it is a great bike. The 3.0 referred to the frame weight in lbs. for a 56cm frame. It came in two variations if I remember correctly- a criterium and a road race version. I have the criterium. It had a slightly higher bottom bracket and maybe a steeper head angle. Not the most comfortable bike, but at the time 19-20mm tires were all the rage. With 25's it's not too bad. The next incarnation of this frame was the 2.8 and it still had the cantilevered rear dropouts.
I turned it into a fixed gear for many years and just recently retired it.
