Sorry to jack the thread but it seems like you received your answer so I was hoping to piggyback.

D-Fly worth it or not? What are you using it for? Gimmicky or functional?

Yes ...worth it. In particular if you have da shifters and a Garmin edge. The hidden buttons controlling the edge are the best feature.

6770 Di2 shifters should also work with the 6870 and 9070 derailleurs, right? If I recall, it was the 6770 + 6870 derailleur mix that wouldn't work with the firmware updates. But as long as the derailleurs are all 10 spd 6770 (excludes 7970) or all 11 spd 6870/9070, then there should be no problem, right?

Yes, D-Fly with Garmin 520, worth it, especially with DA levers to get the hidden button. Ultegra levers work too but don't have the hidden button for controlling the Garmin. I set my 520 up with 3 screens: the first with the info I normally want to see (speed, distance, elapsed time, avg speed, max speed, elevation gained, HR), one for climbing (subset of first screen, elevation gained, elevation lost, climbing rate, gradient), and one with gearing and battery info. Love it!
