Hi

I have a hard time understanding the size (Stack reach...)

To day I have a Specialized Diverge Carbon in size 52. Stem is a -17 110 mm. It feels good. The stem is slammed.

I´m 173,5 cm and have 79 cm legs. I sit on 70,6 cm from BB to saddle.

Now I´m dreaming of the next bike. C60 Disc or V1-r disc.

Specialized Diverge Colnago C60 V1-r
52 45S 48S 50S 45S 48S 50S
Stack 544mm 524 528 547 524 530 546
Reach 378mm 380 383 386 376 381 382

Let´s say I could go for a Little smaller frame. How do my Diverge compare to the Colnago´s

Can someone explain if I can go 45, 48 or 50S in C60 or V1-r

I'm 174 and ride a 50s Colnago c59.

Reach with Colnago's doesn't change much between sizes but the stack does...

You could go any of them...but i'd probably say the 48s since you like lots of handlebar drop
Current Quiver:
Cervelo Aspero, Dura Ace 12
Time RXR, Record 10sp
Colnago C40 Mapei

In the past:
C59 x 2, EPS, Dogma2, Dogma, Caad 12, SuperSix HM, BMC RM01, Focus Izalco, Scott Foil, Cervelo R3SL, BMC SLC01, S-Works Tarmac, TCR

It depends how aggressive you want your position to be.
In my opinion without knowing anything else about your preffered fit, if you ride a 52 specialized 45S is too small.

You could ride 50S or 48S with the right fitting.

A pointer having gone down this road myself, and botching it. You need to add the bearing top cover on both frames to the stack numbers. On a C59, it's 8mm.

I'm pretty similar....173 tall, 720 bb centre to top of saddle and ride a 54 cm traditional (non slower) Extreme Power.

This equates to a 50s and if I were buying a C60(which I wish I was) ....that is the size I'd buy.

I'm 175cm and have a 48s C60. The seat post is rather high and the stack of the head tube is at it's minimum setting: no spacers and the height of the dust cap of the headset is 1 mm. I chose 48s over 50s because this way I got a lot more lower stack which I require for proper low aero position when racing. I'm having a standard 110mm stem with 6 or 7 degree angle.

My bike is here if you want to see how high the seat post is (yes, not so high really): http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=56175&start=3750#p1196108.

If I remember correctly the reach between 48s and 50s are almost equal. The main difference was with the length of the head tube -> longer stack.

Yes, this wasn't so helpful but I just wanted to comment because some replies before mine were from people a bit shorter than me who'd go for larger frame size than I've got. It's possible that the 48s is also fine. I guess that it depends on your riding style. I'm always having my handlebars as low as I can.

For comparison, the 48s C60 is almost equal to my previous frameset, a 51s Cervelo R3 2010 (the year before they increased the length of the head tube).

Why not traditional geometry?

Thanks everyone.

I like my bar low. And if I could I would have it lower in my Diverge. But it al the way down and I got a "slam that stem" dustcover so no high conical as stock.

I like my bike small and neat if you know what I mean. When I got the Diverge the seller told me 54 in size but I choose the 52 because it just felt more right for me.

I have just seen one traditional but I think I like the sloping more. If someone had both in the same picture it would be great.

As for seat post is it a special one one the C60?

What do u think C60 vs V1-r size wise?

I guess the traditional size would be a better fit for you. No?

@kgt - why do u think that?

@ngt - nice bike indeed. I don´t think it looks like it to small. That is the way I like it. And I guess a 45S would be to small.

Someone in the 170-175 thats riding a 45S?

What is your bb-->saddle in cm?

I guess you need a longer seatpost since you have long legs for your height.
