Hello all,
I'm contemplating a fork change for my Giant Propel Advanced, which has an OverDrive fork.
The rep at Giant says that an OD2 fork won't fit, because the headtubes are different between Advanced and Advanced Pro/SL models. Is that really the case? Can I fit a OD2 fork into my bike with a different headset?

On this topic, does anyone know where I can get an aftermarket 'overdrive' headset bottom bearing?
Local shops says that OEM ones aren't available (UK) and I have to buy a new headset full at £35. Which seems a little steep to me.
I've looked online but I can't ssem to find one with the little 45degree schamfer.

I have removed the fork and took some measurements of the bearing seats.
Upper bearing seat OD: 42 mm, ID: 36,3 mm
Lower bearing seat OD: 46.9 mm, ID: 43 mm. The measurement that I find to be the most critical, which is the upper seat ID and the smallest diameter in the head tube, is larger than 1 1/4", tells me that an OverDrive 2 fork will at least go through.
The OD measurements also match the bearing sizes listed in the link jekyll man posted, reinforcing my guess that Propel Adv/Adv Pro have the same head tube dimensions.
The plot thickens...

I swear I read something on another website about the forks being interchangeable, provided you use the correct headset.

If the OD measurements match on the Adv and Adv/Pro I'd be inclined to believe if you got the Adv/Pro headset and fork they will fit on your Adv. frame.

I have a TCR advanced sl with OD 2 and an old one with OD 1. I can switch forks without problems. The only thing I need to do is change the upper bearing of the headset.

I have a 2016 propel frame and wanted a lighter fork so swapped it to the OD2 full carbon (2017) WHICH DOES FIT simply use the OD2 bearing set and you are done! Also the weight difference OD with alu steerer (which has been cut down by 30mm) 585 grams
Uncut full carbon OD2 409 grams.
Hope that helps
