I could have sworn I saw a thread on here before about this but couldn't find it.

The new 22 red crankset has the hidden bolt nut in the arm. I just noticed that my chainring is bowed inward since there seems to be a gap. I put a pedal washer in there for now, but am I missing something? Anyone else run into this issue?

Pic?

That chain catching pin isn't supposed to be long enough to touch the arm.

I think a picture would be helpful.

Did you install the chainring with the spacer on that hidden bolt? Or did you leave it off?

I'll get a picture tomorrow. It's: [crank arm w/ female threads] | [~1mm gap] | [big chainring] | [2 or 3mm spacer] | [little ring]

There should be no gap at all. My hidden bolt is just as solid as the non hidden regular bolts. You did something wrong, that we'll probably see when you post a pic.

Is it possible that the Fibre-Lyte rings are not thick enough?

You could have mentioned you have aftermarket rings on the crank :)

With the hidden bolt you'll have to spacer some rings with washers to keep them flat. Some rings even come with washers in the right thickness - my Dovals e.g. did.

SRAM rings are 4mm thick there. If your ring is not 4mm thick then you will have a gap since both sides of the ring mount to the arm.

Ya, I suppose that would have helped. So, where can I get spacers? I tried googling but no luck.
