Get this...

Apparently Cannondale are doing away with compact and standard Spiderings in 2016, and will move solely to 52/36 for the Spidering.

This is unconfirmed at the moment, but that is what my local dealer just told me.

Anyone else heard this info?

I looked in the dealer manual at the LBS and that was the only option I saw as well.

It was my understanding that the SISL 2 (lighter, ten arm) would be available in "classic" sizes, with the SISL (8 arm) coming in 52/36

I've got a 53/39 to trade (new) for a 52/36 if anyone wants a 'classic'

Hmm, so there is no actual conclusion on this yet.

More from my local shop; they said that from April 2016, there would be a new version of the SiSL (maybe SiSL2, they were unclear about this part), which would be more expensive than the current SiSL2, and this would only come with 52/36...

The plot thickens.

The 34/50 and 39/53 are still offered in the SpideRing SL version (10 arm) The part numbers are KP245/ and KP244/. The standard SpideRing (8 arm ) is only available aftermarket as 36/52, part number CU4042SI52. The complete cranksets for 2016 are all sold with 36/52 as the only option.

Right, so if people want to buy the complete crank set, and run compact, they will need to buy the compact spidering separately, and have a spare 8 arm 52/36 spidering from the get go...
