PressFit BB30a = 2016 supersix evo hi mod
PressFit BB30 (PF30) = Supersix Evo non hi mod (and hi mod up until 2015)

Yep. The BB30a is now the BB standard for CAAD12, 2016 Supersix HiMod and the synapse carbon line. It's clear that Cannondale will move all of its bike to this standard.

on a related note, would it be possible to use a BB30 threaded adaptor (e.g. https://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8; ... =1000,2,81) and shimano threaded bb to run a Shimano Hollowtech 2 crank on a CAAD12 (my power meters are all 24mm spindle)

Seems reasonable, provided the crank spindle is long enough to accommodate an external BB as well as the 73mm shell. I'm not sure it is, though. From memory, Shimano spindles are made to fit a 68mm shell with an external BB, and BB86 press-fit. There may be a bodge using an MTB Bottom bracket, I seem to recall the cups are thinner, but I couldn't swear to it.

Those sleeves are a complete git of a thing to remove if you ever decide to go back to BB30, BTW.

There is an adaptator bottom bracket available to use 24 mm axle crankset
