Good evening everyone,

Hopefully I don't make any mistakes right in my first post  . I've searched the forum but couldn't find an answer to my question.

I'm interested in buying the Giant Contact SLR Carbon handlebar, which looks like this on the website where I want to buy it:
Image

On the Giant website I found a handlebar (also Contact SLR) which looks a bit different and the weight is specified as 192g for 38cm (which is the size I'm interested in).

Does anybody by chance know the "real" weight of the handlebar and also if there are different models?

Thanks a lot!

Anna

I believe the second one is the stealth version.

the product policy of Giant is a bit strange, colours differ allmost per country and some parts are US, Asia or EU only (and some are viral on the web but almost impossible to order, the aero spacers for the Propel for example).

I had the first Slr with the white bands and it was approx 220 gramms in 44 center center (great bar). I now ride the fixed slr bar/stem combo in stealth (2016 version) which is strange since Giant announced to stop with this part.

be aware Giant bars are measured center to center

Thanks to both of you!

220g for the SLR in 44 doesn't sound too bad... Don't know how much I will save with the narrower (38 c-c) version, but I think I'll go for it.

For the 38, you'd be around 200g

Ok thanks, I've just ordered the handlebar and hope that I'm lucky with the weight ;) . It's really the best deal I could find in this price/weight category (<100€ for a hopefully-not-much-over-200g handlebar).

The one you've pictured at the top is an older version, I think 2012 or 2013.

As well as the graphics I think the top one is also lighter and flexier and the new ones are stiffer and a touch heavier. don't take that as gospel though.

Thanks wingguy, that's actually good news for me. As a rather small girl I'm happy to trade a bit of stiffness for reduced weight ;)

My bad! Mine is the Contact SLR Aero, not the regular one!

Ok good, thanks for the correction. Then I will continue to be optimistic ;) . I'll let you know how mine weighs in when it arrives.
