We know the gp4000 is great, is the turbo gripton even better?
I'm thinking in terms of durability, punctures...

I trust the GP4000 for your requirements and ride them daily

I am eager to try my new s-works clinchers since they tested so well recently. No experience with flat protection though.

So for your requirements, GP4000

I posed the same question to my local shop and they recommended the Conti, primarily for puncture resistance. He mentioned that the Turbo is a great tire, but can't hold up to the Conti with punctures.

I'll be getting the Conti's myself when Ribble gets them back in stock.

I remember reading that the S-Works Turbo had some of the lowest rolling resistance of any tire they tested. I have them on my race wheels. I feel like the S-Works is a race tire pretty exclusively unless you like burning money on tires. For durability and punctures sake the GP4000 is going to be a better choice.

Puncture protection on the S-works turbo is fine, or at least I've had decent luck with the set I'm running. I've had around 1500km and there's still plenty of wear indicator (I'm estimating at least 3000km)

On the road they don't feel any faster than the original conti GP4000 (haven't tried the s2 yet), but they don't feel anywhere near as nice as latex + vittoria open corsa tyres (obviously the numbers tell a different story so :noidea: )
I write the weightweenies blog, hope you like it :)

Disclosure: I'm sponsored by Velocite, but I do give my honest opinion about them (I'm endorsed to race their bikes, not say nice things about them)

I have ridden both.. And i think the contis sucks big time..major side cuts on both. 1 Day old and 3 weeks old. And in the 3 weeks alot of punctures..

But both the turbo cutton and the regular turbo, is awesome! Really is the best tires out there. The cotton is really really good. I have had a few punctures on the cotton but none on the regular turbo.

Turbos on all my bikes. Norms & cottons.

Only puncture I had was a nail that would have gone through all tires.

I get to ride 4000s all the time & I feel nothing special about them.

Be aware that there have been two SW Turbo versions. The one a season or so ago with 220 tpi and marked "for race only" and the new with 120 tpi and Gripton. The lower tpi means more space for Gripton leading to better punchture protection. All I have heard is the "for race only" edition was very prone to punctures. I have the 120 tpi edition and the punchture protection has been flawless so far.

Just know the S works is sized for a 17mm inner width rim. If you buy the 25mm version, don't be expecting it to be 28mm on your wide rim.

Sworks are soft , cut easy and wear fast.. But they are nice tires.. I get more miles from gp2
